MIXED MESSAGES AND MENUS
What have you got when the GESTAPO consume GAZPACHO? A chef called Marjorie Taylor Greene, the clueless Republican Congresswoman from the state of Georgia. She accused Nancy Pelosi of calling out the Gazpacho Police to enforce anti-Covid regulations. That was her politically incorrect way of identifying Pelosi as another Hitler, for which she has been criticized in the past. It is likely her constituents will send her back to Congress. This raises serious questions about the intelligence of rural Georgia Republicans, and the quality of education available in the local public schools.
WHAT’S WITH CANADA?
Not since the French-English divide over Quebec’s secessionist movement has there ever been so much turmoil among Canadians. Half the country seemed to be backing the truckers in their protest against government vaccination mandates, but now it’s morphed into something greater - wide dissatisfaction with PM Trudeau and the federal government. This is a peek under the hood of world-wide politics. The political response to dealing with the pandemic has revealed authoritarian tendencies buried deep within liberal governments. It might have been better if each nation had set up science/medical panels completely independent of political and corporate influences. The politicians should just have concerned themselves with easing the social and economic impact of science-based decisions, and enforcing if necessary. If people are unwilling to accept scientific truths, even as the knowledge base keeps shifting and evolving, they need to be re-educated on the moral responsibility that each citizen has to the welfare of the whole. That’s why we created governments - to prevent by regulation the self destructive chaos of anarchy.
WHEN WILL RUSSIA INVADE UKRAINE?
Only American Intelligence services know the answer. They can determine when to plant the false flag to provoke a Russian response that they can call “an invasion.” It’s easy for the inept Intelligencers to make accurate predictions when they hold all the cards. Peace depends on Putin and his advisors not falling for the same tired trickery that “war interests” in the US pull all the time. Russia has let the West know, by moving troops closer to the possible combat theaters, that they need to renegotiate or restore the diplomatic compact that ended the Cold War. To anyone living in Russia, NATO looks like an aggressive alliance which has revealed itself fully in the Balkan conflicts, Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan…and in the coup that overthrew the legitimate Ukrainian government. The American/NATO policy to encircle Russia so as to cut it off from Europe is very akin to the failed Domino Theory that was supposed to prevent anti-American interests from taking over Southeast Asia? The “lessons of history” can get no traction among governments more driven by the “missions of narrative.” Meanwhile a parade of scared Western diplomats continues to cycle through the Kremlin.
DRUGGED ON OLYMPIC GOLD
The anti-Russian bias in American media was out in full force as they gorged on reports that Russia’s world-best figure skater, Kamila Valieva, tested positive for trace amounts of a banned substance more than a month before the Olympics. Imagine if this had happened to American gold medalist Nathan Chen under similar circumstances. Every aspect of the story would have been dissected, from the handling of the blood sample in the lab to the irregular delay in reporting results. And there would have been many more stories about whether such a substance could in any way help a teen figure skater. The fact that this test was a one-off outlier for Valieva and that none of her training mates ever tested positive was largely ignored by the American media vultures. Where were the knowledgeable sports commentators to counter the general media narrative of political journalists offering opinions that mainstream audiences want to hear? Shamefully American officials were calling for a life-time ban of the 15-year-old and stripping the team figure skating Gold Medal from Russian athletes.
AN AMERICAN PROPAGANDA VICTORY
A clever bit of gaslighting:
The US keeps playing Russian roulette with rotating dates as to when Russia will invade Ukraine. If Russia does, the the U.S. Intelligencers can’t be wrong.
On the other hand, if Russia doesn’t invade (as it has been asserting), then the US State Department claims a victory in preventing the invasion.
Win-win for America. Lose-lose for Russia. So then what? Where’s Trumps “Art of the Deal” when one needs it?
GUNNING FOR JUSTICE
As we went to publication, word came down Remington Firearms had agreed to pay $73 million to settle a lawsuit brought by the families of victims in the Sandy Hook school mass shootings. A precedent is set. And more like it will be coming as a new law is pioneered in California to permit similar lawsuits (modeled on the citizen enforcement anti-abortion law in Texas upheld by SCOTUS). The costs of such settlements will be passed on to gun buyers and more novel lawsuits will capture gun owners and gun sellers. Ultimately the gun makers may be driven abroad. Thats how things are done in a democracy where the governing class is owned by industry lobbyists.
